We made a bunch of Dog Park Dissidents stickers to hand out at Fest 2018 but they didn't show up until an hour before we left for Fest. Now we have a bunch of stickers and a bunch of fans all over the world who want them. And we could send them to you for, like, a dollar? But it's really hard to send just a single dollar over the internet because. Y'know. Capitalism.
So since capitalism has decided it should financially make more sense to send 5 dollars over the internet instead of 1 dollar, how about instead you send us 5 dollars and we'll give the rest of it to two radical organizations working to make capitalism stop doing a capitalism to marginalized people?
Your money will go to:
Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative www.jpnsi.org
Friends of the band (by which we mean Zac met one of their people at a leather bar), Jane Place is a New Orleans-based community land trust and housing rights organization. With a two-pronged approach of creating permanently affordable housing through their CLT, and organizing and agitating for tenant rights, they're doing some of the best work in NOLA to push back against gentrification and take power away from landlords. Pretty rad stuff.
Trans Women of Color Collective www.twocc.us
TWOCC is an organizing collective all over the US led by trans women of color. They pool funds to help trans people in need survive and thrive, agitate and educate, organize direct actions, and a whole lot of other very cool and necessary things for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
